SOUTHEAST WYOMING WELCOME CENTER
Commercial
One of the greenest welcome centers in the country and a showcase of how beautiful and integral a SIREWALL product can be used as a part of the overall building program.
Custom Features
The new 27,000 sq.ft. southeast Wyoming Welcome Center, which is made from rammed earth, is one of the greenest welcome centers in the country with several interactive installations and displays, it seeks to inform travelers about sustainable architecture and renewable energy systems. To emphasize the building technique, the walls of the welcome center are striped in sections to represent cross-sections of the earth and the layers of time that occurred to build it. Rammed earth is one of the most sustainable building techniques in the world and uses a readily-available resource (soil), and it minimizes the need to use quarry stone or wood.
Technical Details
While each “stone” is visually independent of its neighboring stone, the insulation and horizontal rebar running on either side of the insulation, are continuous through all the stones.
