Making buildings that are ideal in even the most challenging conditions (either extreme heat or extreme cold), SIREWALL is often incorporated into the highest performance buildings (including Living Building Challenge or Passive House).
SIREWALL's combine the mass heat storage of an earthen building, with a hidden core of insulation to prevent heat transfer. The mass on the interior of the home combined with low e windows has created interior environments without temperature stratification. The infrared energy bounces from surface to surface (floor, wall, ceiling)such that they are all within 1 degree. This provides ambient comfort and a lower average temperature to keep inhabitants feeling comfortable.
