ACOUSTIC QUALITY

SIREWALL's textured surfaces are ideal for the acoustic quality of a space. This can be used to create studio-quality sound or merely to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.

Acoustic Performance - Sound and Sensibility Acoustic Separation is easily, inherently, and economically achieved with the typical SIREWALL wall construction consisting of 2 structurally separate walls reinforced in concert to create a stable, massive, insulated wall system. This is an essential and critical aspect of design for complexes where multiple performing arts, rehearsal, education, and production spaces are required to be in full operation and occupancy simultaneously. Acoustic Attenuation - SIREWALL’s massive walls STC rating is in the high 60’s providing a significant and effective sound barrier to adjacent and exterior activities and undesirable sounds. Acoustic Properties - inherent in the materials and construction of SIREWALL -easily achieve the most desirable results of density, absorption, diffusion to aid in reducing and/or eliminate undesirable acoustic reflections, reverberation, and transmission in addition to the acoustic separation and beauty for assembly and performing arts facilities.

Acoustic Attenuations
The Sound Transmission Class (STC) of 12" concrete wall is 63. SIREWALL's typical interior 12" wythe will have a similar STC. Additionally, we have the internal insulation and an 8" interior wythe of rammed earth. The STC total will be extremely high although we have not, to date, had a third party test the STC of a composite assembly such as SIREWALL. STC 60 is 10x STC 50, which is 10x STC 40. Canada requires STC 50 for walls and floors between adjoining buildings.
