FIRE PROOF

When looking to create non-combustible structures it makes sense to use non-combustible materials throughout your structure. Concrete floors, SIREWALL walls, and earth-bermed or steel roof structures could all work together to create an ideal building envelope for fire resistance.

Around the world, countries have banned wood construction after major fires. In the high fire risk areas of North American (such as California), we keep reconstructing with the same building materials with repeatable results. Insurance companies are no longer wanting to insure homes in these areas. By selecting appropriate materials for these structures we can change the narrative and experience of living in these areas.

Linda Dvorak conducted a study through the University of Melbourne looking into the best construction practices in their high-risk areas. The data in this [PDF] is from this research.
